PRESEASON CYCLING/TRIATHLON STRENGTH & CONDITIONING CLINIC
Spring’s longer days and improved weather is just around the corner. Early season races are in sight. You’ve trained all winter, including hitting the weights, and you’re ready to go.
So, how do you handle your preseason? What’s the right blend of sport-specific and off-bike training that will get the results you want in a few months?
Cadence Cycling and Multisport Centers announces its “Spring Has Sprung, How About Your Legs?” strength and conditioning clinic, April 5-6, 2008 at its New York City facility. On Saturday former USA Olympic Team coach Harvey Newton will conduct a 4-hour clinic on preseason off-bike training. “Preseason is the time to cut back slightly on pure strength work and turn the focus to power development,” says Newton, author of the Strength Training for Cyclists System. “Upper and lower body plyometric training maintains off-season strength gains and creates a more powerful cyclist or triathlete for the coming race season.”
Sunday will feature an added benefit for participants. Using Dartfish, the world’s leader in motion analysis software, Cadence Cycling and Multisport Centers will film cyclists and triathletes for biomechanical feedback from Newton and Cadence’s Chad Butts. Several key strength lifts, on-bike pedaling action, and running stride will be filmed for analysis. This will be by appointment only.
This is a VERY LIMITED clinic. Don’t let your competition get the upper leg on you; sign up early to get in on this great opportunity.
Saturday's lecture: $95
Sunday's biomechanical analysis: $200 ($175 for those who attended Saturday's lecture)
