The SL01 is handbuilt using Easton's legendary Ultra Light 7000 series aluminum mated to Easton's CNT unidirectional carbon seat stays (the same carbon used in the SLT01 Team Machine!). This keeps weight to a reasonable minimum while providing a smooth, responsive ride. The carbon in the Easton EC70 fork and at the seat stays dampens road vibration to reduce the on-set of fatigue and helps aid in crisp handling. 

The SL01 has been used by pro teams like Phonak and Astana for their less visible but hard-working riders. You know, the riders who do the hard labor, who carry 10 or 12 water bottles from the team cars at the back of the peloton to their protected captains at the front of peloton, who volunteer their wheel if necessary, who don't share the glory of the limelight on the podium.
