Kuota was new to North American shores in 2004. But since then Kuota has made an impressive splash. At its North American debut Kuota won the crown jewel of multisport by taking home victory at the 2004 Kona Ironman. Then, in 2006, Norm Stadler did a repeat of his 2004 Kona Victory with a phenomenal bike time of 4 hours and 18 minutes.
Kuota is actually an Italian company, it is a division of the Italian parts manufacturing conglomerate, Sintema. Sintema is famous for their Italian handlebars, stems, and seatposts, and have their fingers in numerous other bike-related manufacturing partners. But, until recently, Sintema was missing a thoroughbred racing machine. It was just a short while back that Sintema paired up with the world's leading composite and carbon technology firm, Martek. Martek's quality control and carbon fiber technology is world renowned, and has been used even in American military applications.
