Capillary action is an essential feature of any base layer worth wearing. Capillary action is the way in which a fabric wicks moisture away from the skin, pulls that moisture to the surface of the fabric, and then allows it to dissipate through evaporation. Keeping moisture away from the skin will keep you warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer, and it's an absolutely critical feature of cycling clothing for optimized rider performance and fatigue reduction.

Assos' FallLight base layer is especially good at wicking moisture due to its double-action fibers which provide a "push and pull" effect; namely, the fibers actually pull moisture away from your body, and then push it to the surface of the fabric layer for evaporation. This is accomplished through the use of 3 distinct fiber types, two of which are "hydrophillic" (meaning they attract moisture), the other is the common silver fiber which Assos has used for years to prevent bacteria build up and odor.

Assos' FallLight is designed for moderate temperatures ranging from 46 to 61 degrees, but can easily be used in conjunction with an Assos AirJack or even FuguJack for supreme warmth, dryness, and a bit of thermal insulation on even the coldest days.
